3 Things I Would Tell My Younger Self

Why are we always harder on ourselves than anyone else in this world?!? We put such tremendous pressure on... us! We have to be the best at "X", and look the best with "Y". The entire thing is exhausting. Who are we trying to impress anyway?!?
If you could go back in time and tell your younger self some important things to help you in your life, what would they be?

Oh Geri! You need to know that you are awesome and way prettier than you will ever know or realize.

That boy you grew up with and have known since 1st grade? He will one day be your husband.  The two of you will have a couple of amazing kids. Soon you will realize that being a parent is really hard. You're going to think diapers are the hardest stage to juggle but you haven't seen anything yet. These little minds of free will (which is hardly ever YOUR WILL) will push you to your limits and then some. It's what they all do, it's what you did. You're doing great. They know you love them and that they can come to you for anything!

Be careful what you fear because somehow, no matter what, your children will fear that too. You can keep that secret forever, not telling a soul, but somehow those little minds will suck the info from your brain into there's. This fear could cripple you and them. #getoutofyourcomfortzone

The guilt you feel will haunt you forever. You need to take control of it or it will paralyze you. You keep on doing your best and know that you are. You always have room to improve but you can't be all to everyone.

What would you tell your younger self?
Just remember you don't have to be alone! We have a community of people just like you that are lifting each other up and showing that we don't have to be perfect. Come join us so that you don't have to do life alone. We would love to have you.
